Daily wage worker killed in drunken brawl
A 52-year-old daily wage worker was allegedly murdered by his friends after a drunken brawl on Wednesday night in Madhavaram.

The deceased was identified as Govindarajan (51) of Kondithope, who had been working as a daily wage worker at Koyambedu.
The police said that the victim was consuming alcohol with two others workers Anbalagan (33) and Suresh (30) near the Madhavaram flyover around 11.30 pm on Wednesday night.Â
Govindarajan picked up an argument with Anbalagan and Suresh and in the melee, the duo pushed Govindarajan and smashed his head with a stone. He died on the spot, the police said.
The pavement dwellers in the area, who witnessed the fight, alerted the Madhavaram police. However, the suspects Anbalagan and Suresh had escaped by the time the police reached the spot.
The police sent the body of Govindarajan to Stanley Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The Madhavaram police have registered a case and launched a hunt for a two men.Â
