The deceased boy was identified as Aakash, a Class 6 student. He was son of Murasoli (42), a resident of Banu Nagar in Ambattur. The boy died on the way to the hospital while his father and another biker Srinivasan (50) managed to escape with minor injuries.

Aakash was returning home with his father after visiting their relative’s house when the accident took place. According to the police, Murasoli had caused the accident while negotiating a turn to enter the Ambattur-Puzhal Main Road. In the process, he hit Srinivasan’s two-wheeler. Srinivasan was travelling with his daughter.

In the impact, Aakash fell on to the road and later died. The Poonamallee traffic investigations wing police went through the CCTV camera footage and confirmed that Murasoli’s rash driving led to the accident.

Subsequently, the police personnel registered a case under the Sections 279 (rash and negligent driving) and 304 (A) (death caused due to negligent driving) of the IPC against Murasoli. He has been not arrested as of now, police said.
