Youth kills mother, commits suicide

The incident came to light when a family friend Arun Kumar visited their home and found Sundaravalli lying dead on the bed and her son Vigneswaran (22)hanging from the ceiling, on Saturday evening.

According to the police, the deceased were from Thomas Road in T Nagar. Vigneswaran was working as a food delivery boy for a living while his father worked as a watchman. Sundaravalli was reportedlysuffering from depression for the last six months and kept talking to herself.

Arun Kumar immediately alerted the 108 ambulance and the police control room after seeing both of them dead. The bodies were later shifted to Royapettah GH.

Cops suspect that the youngster might have smothered his mother to death using a pillow. “We are waiting for the autopsy report to find out how the woman died,” said a police officer.
