Woman kills ex-lover to avenge son’s murder

After Nagaraj was released on bail, he went to his home town Tiruvannamalai and started working in a mobile phone shop. On Saturday, a five-member gang hacked Nagaraj to death and escaped on two bikes. The police secured four persons with the help of the CCTV footage in the locality. During investigation, the police came to know that Manjula, whose only son was killed by Nagaraj, was the brain behind the murder.

According to the police, a special team from Tiruvannamalai has landed in MGR Nagar in Chennai to nab Manjula, wife of S Karthikeyan. “As Nagaraj killed her son Ritesh Sai (9) in March, she wanted to take revenge,” the police noted. The police believe that she was behind the murder. She was earlier arrested when she tried to purchase a gun in July. At that time, Manjula had told the police that she wanted to purchase a gun to eliminate Nagaraj and also her estranged husband Karthikeyan.

Manjula (39), a Tangedco employee, was living with her second husband Karthikeyan (37), an interior decorator, and their son on Ezhumalai Street in Bharathi Nagar, Nesapakkam. Nagaraj, who was working for Karthikeyan had an affair with Manjula.

After Karthikeyan came to know about it, he asked Nagaraj to stay away from his wife. He had also lodged a complaint with the police, who let off Nagaraj with a warning. Infuriated over this, Nagaraj kidnapped Ritesh Sai and murdered him after taking him to an apartment complex in Selaiyur in March.
