The Arignar Anna Zoological Park’s Zoo School organised education camps for school children in April 2018 as a summer camp activity. The camp was named as Zoo Ambassadors’ Camp and more than 150 students participated in it.

Students were trained on the various characteristics of mammals, reptiles, fishes, birds, butterflies and small Insects by the biologists and veterinary doctors in-charge of the zoo.

The trained students were given titles as zoo ambassadors. They were given with zoo passport which would permit these children to visit zoo with a free entry for 10 times per year. The students were also provided with animal book and other study materials.

Close to 400 children were trained as zoo ambassadors by Arignar Anna Zoological Park in 2018. On Saturday, the last batch of 65 students were provided with certificates and zoo passports.

Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Yogesh Singh, Deputy Director Sudha Ramen and Assistant Director Sekar were present in the valedictory function.
