The book was released by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, here on Friday with the first copy being received by Chennai Super Kings Captain, MS Dhoni. Rupa Gurunath, belonging to the third generation, said, “India Cements is fortunate to have a visionary at its helm. ICL and my father have always been ahead of their times. Pushing boundaries, challenging convention, defying the paradigm time and again - 50 years of an extraordinary journey. As we face the next decade, we will continue the quest.”

Speaking on the occasion, former Team India captain Sunil Gavaskar hailed the “unmatchable” contribution of Srinivasan, even while recognising the visionary leadership in positioning India Cements among the top companies in the country. The introduction of welfare schemes for the cricketing fraternity highlighted the services rendered by Srinivasan.

India’s World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev termed Srinivasan as an administrator par excellence, who had made enormous impact through his selfless work.

The tables had turned for Indian cricketers, who were once desirous of compensations akin to Australian or other foreign counterparts, thanks to the enviable position that they were currently in.

Rahul Dravid, former Team India Captain, turned nostalgic as he went on to cite the personalised and passionate involvement of Srinivasan. He would even take time to witness league matches and maintained a connect that showed his passion for the sport and the people associated with it.  Other speakers at the event included Dhoni and Mahendra Singhi, President, CMA.
