Corpn worker electrocuted while urinating
A 17-year-old conservancy worker from West Bengal was electrocuted while he was urinating in the wee hours of Wednesday at Kilpauk. While the doctors have confirmed he died of electrocution, the Tangedco officials and police are investigating if there was any electricity leak at the spot.

The deceased, Sajai Dur, from West Bengal, was employed by contractors of the city Corporation for stormwater drain work near Dasaprakash hotel. Sajai Dur, who was working with others overnight, went to urinate after work around 5 am.
Police said he suddenly shouted for help and collapsed on the spot. His co-workers rushed to his rescue and took him to the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital. But doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Following the incident, power supply to the locality was suspended. The Kilpauk police have registered a case and are investigating how he was electrocuted.
The police suspect that underground electric cables could have been damaged while digging channel for the stormwater drain and Sajai Dur might have come in direct contact with the exposed wire.
Tangedco officials, who inspected the spot, are expected to undertake a detailed study on Wednesday before giving their conclusion on the incident. When contacted, doctor Karthikeyan of KMC said, “We often come across such cases, but the fatality depends on the percentage of burns.”
Sajai Dur was staying in a rented house in Poonamallee and his parents in West Bengal have been informed about the incident. The post-mortem examination was performed with the consent of his elder brother living in Manali, said police.
In 2009, a similar fatal incident was reported in the city, in which K Murugan (34) of NSK Nagar, an LPG delivery man, was electrocuted near Chennai Harbour after he urinated on a live wire connected to a generator.
