College student nabbed for mobile snatching
The Ashok Nagar police arrested a college student for snatching mobile phone from a pedestrian and seized two phones from him.

Ilavarasu of Puducherry had come to Chennai looking for a job. When he came out of an ATM, a youth snatched his phone and fled the spot. The Ashok Nagar police, who registered a case based on his complaint, traced his phone to Kannammapet using the IMEI code and arrested Karthikeyan (19), a second-year college student.
He had allegedly indulged in snatching during night hours earlier, said the police. Two mobile phones were seized from Karthikeyan, who was remanded injudicial custody.
Lawyer loses phone to snatchers in Vadapalani
A 39-year-old lawyer was relieved of his mobile phone by two bike-borne snatchers at Vadapalani on Saturday.
Karunakaran of Saidapet, a practicing advocate at Madras High Court, came to a private hospital in Vadapalani on Saturday morning to visit his ailing friend.
When he was talking on the phone near the Sivan temple, a bike-borne duo snatched his mobile phone and fled the spot. Based on his complaint, the Vadapalani police have registered a case and going through the CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
