20 sovereigns stolen from Perambur home
Unidentified persons broke into the house of a jewellery shop employee and decamped with 20 sovereign gold, 500-gram silver and Rs 25,000 in cash on Friday.

The police said that Rameshwara Lal (47) of Peravallur SRP Kovil Street South is an employee at a jewellery shop in Thiru Vi Ka Nagar. He went to his relative’s house along with his family on Thursday. When he returned on Friday, he found that the door broken open and valuables that were kept in the cupboard were missing.
Based on his complaint, the Peravallur crime branch police registered a case and have collected fingerprint samples from the house. They have also collected the CCTV footage from the locality to identify the suspects. Further investigation is on.
