Vishal detained for trying to enter locked TFPC office
A day after the rival faction of Tamil Film Producers’ Council locked the temporary office premises of the council in T Nagar, high drama was witnessed on Thursday as its president Vishal courted arrested for attempting to break open the office. While Vishal was released in the evening, the office was officially sealed by Revenue officials.
Chennai
It all started when Vishal and his supporters reached the office on Yogambal Street and were prevented by police personnel from entering the office. This resulted in heated arguments from both the parties and while T Nagar Deputy Commissioner tried to convince Vishal that the district registrar to whom the key was handed over by the rival faction was on his way to unlock the premises, Vishal and team refused to budge.
Since Vishal’s supporters were determined to break open the office, police detained nine of them including Vishal and actor-producer Mansoor Ali Khan and kept them in a private hall in the locality. After the Revenue officials sealed the office premises, Vishal and others were released on Thursday evening.
