VIT ranks 13 in country’s best engineering colleges

G Viswanathan, Chancellor, VIT addressed the media in a press conference held at VIT-AP University opined on open book exams “Exams traditionally assess students based on their ability to only reproduce knowledge, we aim to reform the way we assess our students. We aim to match the assessment system with the outcome-based framework our education and industry has adopted, based on performance indicators.”

He unveiled new academic course posters in the press conference. Keeping in view the advancement in digital era, VIT launched new courses to ensure successful employment with digital skills – B Tech Artificial Intelligence, BBA Business Analytics, Animation and Media courses – from the upcoming academic year.

VIT also is collaborating with Toonz to offer courses on Animation, Visual Effects, and Gaming, as announced by vice president Sankar Viswanathan. VIT-AP University vice chancellor D Subhakar detailed on the courses during the press conference saying they would entail Film Making, Visual Effects – Advanced and a 3D Finishing Progamme.

VIT School of Business is launching a BBA in Business Analytics next year, on its Amaravati Campus. VSB is exploring an International Credit Transfer Program with WP Carey School of Business, Arizona State University (ASU), US for a 2+2 program where a student can study for two years in India and two years in the US and get an Under Graduate degree from ASU.

Even 12 universities from USA, UK, Australia and Spain are offering International transfer programs with VIT. To ensure practical training to B Tech students, VIT is offering engineering clinics and six to nine-month internship programs from the completion of their first year as told by CLV Sivakumar, Registrar, VIT.
