Glass panel breaks for 83rd time at city airport
A glass panel on the second floor of the domestic departure terminal broke and fell off in the wee hours of Friday at the city airport.

This is the 83rd glass panel that has broken since the airport was renovated in 2012. Airport sources said that the incident happened around 12.30 am on Friday.
Though the glass measuring 7x4 feet broke, no one was injured as passengers are not allowed in the area.
The airport security officers, who were on duty, cleared the glass pieces. Airport officials said the glass may have shattered due to the vibration caused by the drilling machine at the airport expansion work site nearby. They also claimed that the glass was already marked for replacement as it was very week.
