25 sovereigns seized from serial burglar

The arrested person, M Vadivel (26) of Kodambakkam, has similar cases pending against him at Ashok Nagar and St Thomas Mount stations, said the police. On November 3, Vadivel burgled the house of R Raghu Kumar (33) and escaped with 45 sovereigns, silver articles and Rs 7,000 in cash. Based on a complaint, the police registered a case and arrested Vadivel after an investigation.

In a separate case, the Ennore police arrested two persons for stealing mobile phones and seized six handsets from them. The accused, M Lokesh (21) and T Easwaran (18) of Ennore, are repeat offenders, said the police. In Tondiarpet, the police arrested three people – Shanmugam, Vasanth and Suman – for robbing a pedestrian at knifepoint near Vaidyanadhan flyover on Monday night.
