Rajini Mandram rejigs south Chennai unit
Actor Rajinikanth has brought about an administrative rejig in the Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM). The Mandram has divided its South Chennai unit into South Chennai (East) and South Chennai (West). Office bearers have been appointed for the newly-formed units after the approval by Rajinikanth.
Chennai
The South Chennai (East) block will comprise Mylapore, Velachery and Sholinganallur assembly constituencies.
The South Chennai (West) block will comprise T Nagar, Virugambakkam, Saidapet and Alandur constituencies.
Meanwhile, the 67-year-old is expected to respond to the criticism around his comments supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a recent interview he gave to a national magazine.
“As usual, his comments have been taken out of context. But Rajinikanth wants to ensure that his political ideologies aren’t misunderstood which is why he will clarify his comments soon,” a RMM source said.
