DMK calls for all-party meet today
The DMK has called for an all-party meeting at its headquarters Anna Arivalayam on Thursday to discuss the permission granted by the Centre to Karnataka for the detailed project report on Mekadatu dam.
Chennai
The meeting which could be attended by Left parties, MDMK, VCK and existing allies of the DMK could most likely announce a hartal to condemn the ruling BJP and AIADMK regime in the state for letting down TN on the riparian issue.
Leader of Opposition M K Stalin had earlier criticised Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami for not raking up the issue during his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Meanwhile, the DMK president, in a statement, appealed to JACTO-GEO, a joint action council of teachers and government employees, to defer the indefinite strike scheduled for December 4 in view of the ongoing cyclone relief works.
