Rajesh Gupta, who runs a hardware store at Parry’s Corner, on Sunday visited a health centre on Tondiarpet-Tiruvottiyur High Road for a regular health check-up. According to him, he left his footwear worth Rs 800 outside the clinic before he entered the facility. When he returned after visiting the doctor, the footwear was missing. After searching for it sometime, Rajesh Gupta decided to register a police complaint.
He went to the Tondiarpet police station and explained what happened to the police personnel. Though the police were baffled by his complaint, they issued him a Community Service Register (CSR) receipt as he broke down at the station. Sources in the city police said that the officers received the complaint due to fear that he could have been sent by senior officers to check how complainants are treated at the station.
