Jewels seized from burglar in Ambattur

The accused, Pandian alias Mayakrishan, an accused in several house-break incidents, was secured during a regular vehicle check at Ambattur. He was taken to police station after he gave contradictory answers. After an inquiry, the burgled items were recovered from him. Later, he was remanded in judicial custody.

Similarly, the Periamet and Maduravoyal police have secured five persons, including a minor, for a series of mobile phone snatching incidents and seized two handsets from them.

The arrested persons have been identified as M Arunkumar (21) of Korukkuept, K Kalai Vikash (22), M Vasanth, S Vignesh (20) of Nerkundram and a 16-year-old boy. They were arrested for allegedly snatching a mobile phone from a pedestrian on November 3 and remanded in judicial custody.
