Two held for snatching phone from man on train
After a Chennai-bound passenger died after falling from a moving express train as robbers tried to snatch his phone near Gummidipoondi, the Korukkupet railway police have arrested two persons in connection with the case.

The accused persons have been identified as Karthik and Vishnu of Ponneri, who have been remanded in judicial custody on the charges of murder-for-gain.
The incident took place on November 9 when he victim Siddheswar Doss from Uttar Pradesh was travelling in the general compartment of Chennai-bound Coromandel Express.
As he was sitting on steps due to space crunch, a three-member gang who were waiting on the ground tried to snatch his phone by attacking his hands with a wooden long when the train was moving slow in Nandiambakkam railway station near Gummidipoondi for the green signal.
Siddheswar, who lost balance in the attack, fell off the train. While he suffered grievous injuries, the trio escaped with the phone. Railway police rushed Siddheshwar to Stanley Medical College Hospital for treatment where he succumbed to injuries. Korukkupet railway police registered a case and arrested two suspects. One more suspect remainsuntraced.
