The Youth Speak Summit is for people between the age group of 18 to 30 and it will consist of curated talks, workshops, storytelling sessions, contests, and art displays led by community youth leaders from the United States and India.

“It Is a platform for youngsters predominantly from Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to meet, express themselves, collaborate and discuss relevant issues like mental health, sexuality, and an opportunity to learn from the discussion. There will also be counselling workshops that people can attend by booking an appointment,” said the team.

Popular film directors Pa Ranjith and Vetrimaaran will also address the gathering, which will have mentors working with the young attendees.

Another highlight of the event that will be held on December 1 and 2 is the Social Entrepreneurship Pitch Fest, where youngsters are invited to submit their ideas for social projects that will bring about positive change. The best social entrepreneurship ideas will be pitched in person before a panel of judges during the summit, and the top five pitches will receive Rs 50,000 in funding to implement a pilot project within three months and receive mentorship by Ashoka Foundation.

People can submit their ideas online before the deadline, November 15, on http://youthspeak2018.org/se/ and apply to be part of the contest.
