Global Investors’ Meet: Corporation floats tenders to renovate Chennai Trade Centre
As the government has begun the registration of participants for the second edition of Global Investors’ Meet in Chennai, the Greater Chennai Corporation has floated tenders to clean Chennai Trade Centre and provide facilities at the venue.

In one of the three tenders floated by the civic body on Friday, the contractors are invited to provide temporary lighting arrangements and carry out other electrical works inside the premises of Chennai Trade Centre at Rs 10.36 lakh.
“Desilting open drains within the premises and renovation of the auditorium, traffic islands will be carried out with Rs 16.5 lakh each. The wilderness inside the trade centre will also be cleared. Separate tenders have been floated for both the tasks,” an official from the Chennai Corporation.
According to the official, the works are identified after a field visit by the team. “Apart from the lighting, desilting and renovation works, a few other maintenance works will be carried out soon. Major roads are to be repaired and lights would be installed along them,” the official added.
The Global Investors’ Meet is scheduled to be held on January 3 and 24 and more than 250 stalls would be put up to display products and services of investors and partner countries.
