Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science conducted (ICCIBC-2018) a two-day International Conference on Cognitive IoT with Big Data and cloud at its campus at Chennai.
The conference focused on the latest Trends in IT such as Cognitive IoT, Big Data and Cloud Computing.
It was organised by the School of Computing Sciences and MIDARC -Machine Intelligence and Data Analytics Research Centre in Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science which caters to the research and incubation of ideas of various research experts from the domain.
The participants included national and International delegates, including students, research scholars and industry representatives from countries such as Malaysia, Canada and USA and presented their work in the conference.
The event was inaugurated by Jiankun Hu, University of South Wales, Australia, along with other dignitaries such as Sunil David, the regional director – IoT(India and ASEAN Region), ATT Telecommunications, Dr.Jeff Foster, cognitive scientist, Western Sydney University, Australia, Elizabeth Verghese, chancellor, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, vice chancellor KP Isaa and director Ashok Verghese.
Speaking on the occasion, Jiankun Hu stated that the need for cyber security professionals is on the rise across the globe and insisted on the need for industries to adopt cyber security standards.
Addressing the gathering, the vice chancellor of HITS, KP Isaac said that Hindustan University of Technology and Science (HITS) would be the first in India to offer a collaborative post graduate programme on Cyber Psychology in collaboration with Western Sydney University.
The conference concluded with the signing up of two MoUs with University of South Wales, Australia and Western Sydney University, Australia. The event provided an opportunity for academic and industry professionals to discuss research issues and progress in the areas of Big data, IoT, Cloud Computing and cognitive sciences.
