Everyone wants to be an author today, but very few want to go through the hassles of finding a publisher and then the whole process of making their dream a reality.

Now, for the first time in India, a DIY publishing platform called XPress has been introduced in Chennai that gives authors the power to create a book from beginning to end in under 30 minutes both in eBook and paperback version. Authors can use the interior and book cover design tools to publish books in various genres, using this initiative by Notion Press.

Apart from English books, Xpress publishing also supports books in Indian languages. Naveen Valsakumar, Co-founder, and CEO, Notion Press said, “We are excited to extend our publishing platform to more writers. Xpress publishing will enable convenient and easy access to professional tools for first-time authors. Authors will own 100 per cent rights to their books and earn 70 per cent of the net profit from book sales in any format they choose to publish. Today, we are taking a step forward in setting an ambitious goal for the future: to publish 1,00,000 authors in the next five years with a focus on Indian languages.”

“The platform provides a seamless user experience where the author can design their own cover and interior or use the pre-set templates to create their book. Xpress Publishing is a great option for both professional and amateur authors to publish their fiction and non-fiction books,” said Bhargava Adepalley, co-founder and CTO of Notion Press.

Published authors will also be able to track their book sales online, access exclusive marketing tools and the profits go straight into their designated bank accounts. Writers also will have the option to upgrade to Notion Press’s guided publishing programme in case of requiring more guidance during the publishing process.
