Teen seeks revenge for brother’s murder

An 18-year-old youth along with his friends tried to kill a teenager, who had murdered his brother earlier in Koyambedu this year.  In May, 20-year-old Ganesh was riding a bike with a 17-year-old friend riding pillion when the latter stabbed him to death. Police said both had fallen in love with same girl, which led to the attack. After stabbing Ganesh, the suspect jumped off the bike while Ganesh hit the median and died on the spot. Though they initially thought it was road accident, Police arrested the teenager after scrutinising the CCTV footage.  “The accused was released from judicial detention and returned home on October 1. On Thursday, when he was at a ground near his house at Mettukulam in Koyambedu, five men attacked him with knives leaving him in a pool of blood,” said an officer.  Initial inquiry revealed that Ganesh’s younger brother S Prakash (18) had planned the attack to take revenge on the death of his brother. The Koyambedu police arrested S Prakash, M Mohan (25), S Arockiyam (22), R Sarathi (23) and R Ajith (23).
