Man who was attacked by wife's lover succumbs to injuries

After being attacked by wife's lover on Monday, one Kathiresan, a software engineer from Zamin Pallavaram, succumbed to his injuries in Malar hospital, Adyar.

Antony Jagan and Anitha were allegedly involved in an affair where the latter wanted to do away with her husband. She staged a beach robbery at the Tiruvanmiyoor beach where the couple had gone on the insistence of the wife.

While they were in a deserted place, she suggested to play hide-and-seek and blindfolded him. Meanwhile, Antony Jagan who was hiding nearby, attacked Kathiresan and hit him with an iron rod.

While Kathiresan fell unconscious, Anitha handed over her jewels to Antony Jagan after which he 'escaped'. Anitha then informed the police that Kathiresan was attacked by an unidentified duo, who robbed her jewels.

The police grew suspicious of Anitha as she did not cooperate for their inquiry and gave contradictory replies. When grilled further, she confessed to the crime and Antony Jagan was traced to Madurai based on her inputs.  Police had remanded both of them.  

The husband Kathiresan succumbed to the injuries on Monday at 9:02 pm
