Cash looted from Tasmac shop in Ashok Nagar
Unidentified persons looted Rs 1.90 lakh after making a hole on the wall of a Tasmac shop on Jawaharlal Nehru Salai at Ashok Nagar on Monday.

The staff of the Tasmac shop near the Kasi Theatre downed the shutter around 11.30 pm on Sunday night. When they returned on Monday, they found the cash kept inside missing. When they searched for the cash, they noticed a huge hole in the rear wall of the shop. At least two persons are suspected to have been involved in the loot.Â
Incidentally, the burglars have not taken a single liquor bottle inside. Alerted by the staff, district manager of Tasmac Ravi has lodged a complaint at MGR Nagar police station and police have collected CCTV footage from the locality to crack the case. Police suspect that the involvement of local residents in the crime.Â
Burglars decamp with jewels from teacher’s house
As much as 51 sovereigns were burgled from a school teacher’s house in Pattabiram on Monday. I Shanthi of Mordern City in Pattabiram on Monday visited her daughter Esther who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. When she returned home, the lock in the entrance gate had been broken open and valuables kept inside a cupboard burgled. Based on her complaint, Pattabiram police have registered a case.Â
Meanwhile, 20 sovereigns from a hospital staff’s house was burgled in Old Washermanpet on Monday. Nirmala (40) of Shanmugarayan’s street, an employee of corporation maternity hospital, returned home from work on Monday evening and found the house door broken open. When she checked for valuables, the jewels were missing. Based on her complaint, Old Washermanpet police have registered a case and have launched a hunt for the burglars.Â
