Chennai likely to witness light rain in next two days

While Tamil Nadu and Puducherry is expected to receive light to moderate rain or thundershower at a few places, the Chennai city will record maximum and minimum temperatures around 35 and 27 degree Celsius respectively. In the last 24 hours, Pechiparai in Kanyakumari district has received highest amount of rainfall of 10 cm. While Dharmapuri, Coonoor in the Nilgiris district and Tiruppur received 3 cm each. 

Meanwhile, the trough from Odisha to South Tamil Nadu across Coastal Andhra Pradesh persists above the mean sea level. Similarly, the cyclonic circulation off Coastal Karnataka and adjoining Goa now lies over North Interior Karnataka and neighbourhood between 1.5 and 4.5 Kilometres above mean sea level.
