TN-Pak comparison: State BJP raps Sidhu
Cricketer turned Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has again landed in a fresh controversy and this time it was against the culture and language of Tamil Nadu inviting sharp criticism from the state BJP unit.

Speaking at a festival in Himachal, Sidhu had said that he was more comfortable visiting Pakistan as he did not face any difficulty in terms of language and food. To drive home this point, the Punjab minister drew a comparison between Pakistan and Tamil Nadu. “If I go to TN, I don’t understand the language. Not that I don’t like the food, but I can’t take it for long. That culture is totally different. But if I travel to Pakistan everything is same and amazing.”
Condemning Sidhu for his speech, BJP spokesperson Narayanan Tirupathi told DT Next that he has demeaned the Tamil culture and its language. “If Sidhu is comfortable frequenting Pakistan he is free to settle there. But, he has insulted the Tamils and the Congress leader should apologise.”
