3 students from AP held for selling ganja
The police on Friday arrested three college students from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, who were found selling ganja on Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR).

More than 20 kg of ganja was seized from them, said sources. Based on a tip off that ganja was being supplied to the college students on OMR and East Coast Road, the Kelambakkam police formed a special team to nab the culprits selling the contraband in the identified areas.Â
When the team members were patrolling the area in plainclothes, they found three youth standing near the Kalipattur bus stop on OMR. The police noted a few youth and construction workers approaching them and walking away with ganja packed in small packets. Following this, the three youth were secured and ganja packets were seized from them.Â
After investigation, the police identified the three men as Amalesh (21) Thaigran (22) and Shubesh (21).Â
Police said that the youth visited the city every Friday and would return on Sunday, after selling packets. The room that the youth had rented on OMR was also raided and 22 kilos of ganja was seized from them. Further investigation is on.Â
