The deceased person was identified as Adams, the production manager for a reality TV show called The Remix. Adams was in relationship with a Chennai-based singer, and the couple were planning to get married with the approval of their parents, said police. Adams and the woman were living in a rented premise at Kanathur.

Police said Adams was depressed over the loss sustained in selling the property, and committed suicide by hanging. The woman was not present when the incident took place, police said. The matter came to light when she returned home on Wednesday night to find Adams dead.

Based on her alert, the Kanathur police recovered his body and sent it to Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police here said that they have informed the Australian Embassy about Adams’s death. The autopsy is expected to be conducted on Friday after obtaining the consent of embassy officials. A case of suicide has been registered by the Kanathur police, who ruled out any suspicion over his death.
