Man held for misbehaving with girl

The incident happened when the Class 10 girl was alone in her house on Sunday, as her parents had gone to attend the MGR centenary celebrations at Nandanam. 

The accused, Manikandan, a daily wage labourer, entered her house and tried to molest her. The girl, who escaped from him, informed her parents about the incident after they returned. Based on their complaint, the police arrested Manikandan under POCSO Act and remanded him in judicial custody. 

In another incident, a man was arrested for raping and impregnating his sister in Madhavaram. Their parents came to know about the abuse only after they realised that the girl was pregnant. Based on their complaint, the police arrested their son and remanded him in judicial custody. He has also been booked under POCSO Act, said city police.
