Hospital refused to move Jaya abroad: OPS
Even as the Justice A Arumughaswamy enquiry commission probing into the death of former CM Jayalalithaa intensifies its efforts, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam has stated that he and other AIADMK leaders had wanted to shift her abroad for treatment.

Speaking at a public meeting in Theni late on Tuesday night, Panneerselvam said, “We had raised the issue of moving the ailing Chief Minister abroad after her hospitalisation at Apollo Hospitals.”
However, the suggestion was shot down by the hospital management. The Apollo management had assured that the medical care provided to Jayalalithaa was adequate, he said.
Panneerselvam contended that he and other AIADMK leaders brought up the request as they felt that the ailing CM had to be well cared for failing which the public would hold them responsible.
Meanwhile, the commission has sent summons to Jayalalithaa’s physician Dr Sivakumar to appear before it on September 28.
