Court gives 1 year jail for Dashwanth
S Dashwanth, who was convicted for the rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl, was awarded one-year prison term by the Chengalpattu Judicial Magistrate Court on Wednesday for threatening the victim’s father inside the court premises.

Dashwanth lured the child, Hasini, into his flat at Mugalivakkam using a dog, and strangled the child after raping her. He then dumped the body in a travel bag and later burnt it February this year. During one of the hearing, Dashwanth threatened Hasini’s father inside the court, warning him against appearing during the hearing. The Chengalpattu town police had registered a case.
On Wednesday, Judicial Magistrate Subhasini sentenced Dashwanth to another year in prison. He has already been awarded death sentence for the rape and murder of the child.
