NCB nabs 44-year-old with 400 kg ganja
A team from Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) seized 400 kg of ganja from a vehicle in Red Hills and arrested a 44-year-old man from Cumbum on Sunday night. The arrested man said that the contraband was trafficked from Andhra Pradesh based on orders of a ganja smuggler from Theni.

Based on specific information, the team intercepted a car near the Karanodai toll plaza. The vehicle that was coming from Andhra Pradesh had a fake TN registration number, said NCB officers. Â
On checking the vehicle, the officers found 400 kg ganja concealed in the cargo carrier side by covering it with fishing nets and plywood sheet. The NCB team seized the contraband and arrested one Chelladurai, a native of Theni district, for trafficking contraband under the NDPS Act.Â
During the interrogation, Chelladurai revealed that the ganja was trafficked on direction of a man identified as Eashwaran of Theni district. Eashwaran allegedly runs a ganja network by smuggling the contraband from neighbouring states, said NCB officers.Â
