Two-wheeler rider pushed on to road, run over by lorry
A petty quarrel over a minor accident turned fatal for a 42-year-old man as he was knocked down by a lorry after he was shoved on to the road in the scuffle near Kundrathur.

The victim, Shanmugam of Naduveerapattu near Tambaram, was a staff at a private hospital, police said. On Wednesday evening, while he was going towards Sriperumbudur via Kundrathur, a call taxi coming in the opposite direction brushed his two-wheeler at Periyar Nagar.
It led to an argument between them. Locals tried to intervene, but it escalated into a physical fight. In the melee, somebody pushed Shanmugam on to the road and he was run over by a speeding lorry.Â
The Poonamallee traffic investigation police have registered a case and further inquiry is on.Â
