    Teacher fractures boy’s hand for not doing homework

    A Class 5 boy suffered a fracture on his hand after he was allegedly beaten up by his school teacher for not finishing his homework on Tuesday near Maduranthagam in the neighbouring Kancheepuram district.

    The victim, Jeevarathiram (10), a resident of Malaipalaiyam village near Maduranthagam, is a student of a government middle school in the same locality.

    On Tuesday, Jeevarathiram had gone to the school without finishing his homework and he punished by his teacher. Later in the evening, he reached home crying and his parents found his right hand fractured. Jeevarathiram was taken to Maduranthagam government hospital and was shifted to Chengalpattu government hospital later.

    His parents have filed a complaint with the Maduranthagam police and an investigation is on.
