Dutch woman found dead in hotel, cops suspect suicide

Police said the woman, Linda Irena from Netherlands, had checked into a hotel on Venkatesan Street, T Nagar, claiming to be a journalist. She was expected to check out on Thursday.

When she did not check out at the stipulated time, hotel management tried to contact her through the intercom in her room but there was no response. Later, when the staff opened the room using a duplicate key, they found Linda lying dead on the bed and alerted the police.

A police team that rushed to the spot detected an unknown powdery substance next to the bed and suspect that the woman could have consumed it and killed herself. Further investigation is on.
