Power shutdown August 29 for maintenance work
A few areas in Chennai will face power cuts on Wednesday due to maintenance work by the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO). The power cut is expected to start at 9 am and will continue till 4 pm.

According to TANGEDCO’s press release, the power supply will be resumed before 4 pm if the work is completed ahead of schedule.
The areas that will face power shutdown are:
Vallalar Nagar: Old Jail Road, BB Road, CB Road, Kathpada Street, PP Amman Koil All Street, Old Glass factory road, Ambethkar Nagar, Ananthanayaki Nagar, Pensioner’s Lane Area, Canel Street and Stanley Nagar
Saidapet Area: LDG Road, Taluk Office Road, Arokiya Mada Nagar, West Mada Street, Thomas Nagar, North Avenue Ramapuram Area: part of Valluvar Salai, Andavar Nagar, Bharathi Nagar, SRM College, Thirumalai Nagar, KK Ponnurangam Salai, Rayala Nagar 1st Main Road
Besant Nagar: Elliamman Koil Street Adyar Sasthiri Nagar: 7th to 14th Cross Street, 1st Main Road
Perambur Agaram Area: Periyar Nagar 14th to 21st Street, GKM Colony (24, 24A, 25, 26, 27th Street), Muthukumarappa Street, Annai Anjugam Nagar, Thalamutu Street, Venkataraman Salai
