Chennai Airport runway to be shut for 6 hrs daily

The works at the airport, including construction of new taxiway and strengthening of the existing taxiway so that the aircraft can exit at a higher speed, has begun on Monday. Airport manager G Chandramouli said only 30 flights would be operated when the runway is closed, and the traffic can be easily managed.
