Woman held for peddling ganja
The City police have arrested a woman on the charges of peddling ganja and seized 1.2 kg of the contraband from her on Thursday. Based on a tip-off, police raided a house in Pudhu Nagar Cross Street and found that S Rani (47) had hidden ganja to sell it in the locality. Following this, she was arrested and remanded in judicial custody.

Meanwhile, Marina police have arrested two bag snatchers in the locality. The accused were identified as S Selvakumar (22) of Korukkupet and V Ganesh (22) of Washermanpet. They snatched the bag of Reena (44), a school teacher, when she was passing by Kamarajar Salai. The bag, which contained Rs 5,000 in cash, was seized from them and handed over to the victim. Subsequently, they were remanded in judicial custody.
