Dr Arulselvan was part of the team of doctors who treated Jayalalithaa during her hospitalisation at Apollo Hospitals. The inquiry commission has called on all doctors and nurses who were part of the treatment team that had cared for the late chief minister. The Commission had also conducted a visit to the rooms used by Jayalalithaa and her entourage, including Sasikala, her extended family as key ministers, over the course of her hospitalisation. The Commission’s report from the visit has not yet been made public.

The Inquiry Commission has also sent summons to three doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, who were consulted on the treatment provided. The doctors from Delhi are set to appear before the commission on the 23 and 24 of this month.

Jayalalithaa spent 75 days at the hospital following her admission on September 22, 2016, after taking ill at her residence in Poes Garden. She passed away on December 5, 2016. The Commission is set to submit its final report on October 24 this year. Over 70 individuals have deposed before the one-man Commission so far.
