Addressing reporters, Athawale said that the decisions of Narendra Modi are inclusive in nature and are benefiting all the communities. “His decisions are favouring Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and Jains. He is representing all the communities,” he said.
Athawale also said that there is no firm opposition to National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Congress cannot win more than 80 seats. “People will not accept the leadership of Congress president Rahul Gandhi,” he noted.
When asked about the possible alliance of the AIADMK with the BJP, he replied that his wish is to see a united AIADMK. “I spoke with Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran and asked him to rejoin the AIADMK,” said Athawale.
He further said that the AIADMK need not support the BJP during the parliamentary elections, but the support is essential after the election. “Recently too, the AIADMK supported the BJP for the post of Vice Chairman in Rajya Sabha and I am looking forward for such ties between the parties,” said Athawale.
