Kerala floods: Trains cancelled, rescheduled
Five trains –Ernakulam – Kannur Express, Kannur – Ernakulam Express, Nagercoil – Mangalore Express, Kannur – Trivandrum Express and Shoranur – Ernakulam Passenger, scheduled for Tuesday have been cancelled owing to restoration of traffic in Palghat and Trivandrum divisions.
Chennai
An unreserved special (train no 06049) will be operated from Chennai Central at 5.30 pm on Tuesday to clear extra rush of passengers in Kerala due to floods.
The train comprising 13 general class coaches will stop at Perambur, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Podanur Jn, Palakkad, Thrisur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanaseri, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikkara, Kayankulam, Kollam and Varkala. It will reach Trivandrum at 1.40 pm on Wednesday.
Kochuveli – KSR Balgaluru, scheduled to leave at 04.45 pm on Monday, has been re-scheduled to leave at 4.00 am on Tuesday due to late arrival of pairing train. The Kollam – Tambaram special on Tuesday has been partially cancelled between Kollam and Sengottai, a release from Southern Railway.
