Based on a complaint that he mishandled funds of the union to the tune of Rs 8 crore when he was its secretary, Central Crime Branch has registered a case. After an investigation, CCB sleuths rushed to Singanallur and arrested Chinnasamy.
Having represented Singanallur constituency in the assembly for two consecutive terms, he was appointed as the secretary of the Anna Thozhir Sanga Peravai in 2009 by the former chief minister and then AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa.
