Migrant workers drown off Marina
Two migrant workers from Rajasthan drowned in sea off Marina beach on Sunday night. The deceased were identified as Naresh Kumar (21) and Kamalesh Kumar (19), who stayed at a rented premise in Sowcarpet and were working in a scrap shop on Mint Road.

“On Sunday evening, Naresh and Kamlesh went to Marina beach and were playing in the water opposite to PWD building,” police said. They were trapped by a massive tide which pulled them both into sea.
Anna Square police launched a hunt to find the men with the help of a few fishermen, but the efforts were in vain. On Monday morning, Naresh Kumar’s body was washed ashore near MGR memorial. The search is continuing to find the fate of Kamlesh Kumar.
Anna Square police registered a case and are investigating.
