Corporation to use mobile units to screen for tuberculosis
In its quest to create a tuberculosis-free city, the Greater Chennai Corporation’s mobile testing units will screen people for the disease from Tuesday onwards.

Residents from the following areas can get tested in these units, as per the schedule listed below. On Tuesday, the mobile unit will be at Sathyamurthynagar, Tondiarpet; on Wednesday at Navalar Nedunchezhiannagar in Royapuram; on Thursday, Bojarajannagar, Aasirvadapuram and Basin Bridge in Royapuram; on Friday, Shanmugapillai street, Rudrapuram, Nochikuppam in Teynampet and on Saturday, Sudhandhiranagar, Ambedkar Nagar in Teynampet.
Residents of Srinivasapuram and Pattinambakkam residents can be screened in Adyar on August 6. On August 7, Odaimanagar, Thideernagar and Besant Nagar residents can get themselves checked. Those living in R Block, Kotturpuramcan can opt for screening on August 8, Kallukuttai in Perungudi on August 9, Semmenchery on August 10 and Kannagi Nagar on August 11.
The civic body has requested the public to use these services and help them make the city tuberculosis-free.
