Man wanted in 50 cases held after hot chase
Police nabbed an absconding accused, who was wanted in murder cases in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, after they chased a car that went past them without stopping, during a vehicle check near Perambur flyover on Friday night.

The accused R Ramki alias Ramachandran (29) of Kannadapalayam was released on a conditional bail in March. However, he violated the bail condition and never appeared before the police. Following this, police launched a hunt for him.Â
On Friday night, Sembium police who were on a regular vehicle check near Perambur flyover witnessed a car zipping past them when they tried to intercept it.Â
On suspicion, police chased the car and stopped it. During interrogation, police found that the person behind the wheel was Ramki and arrested him.
Ramki is an accused in 50 cases ranging from robbery to murder. He has four murder cases against him in various parts of Tamil Nadu as well as in Andhra Pradesh. Known as Tambaram Ramki, he is a history-sheeter in Tambaram police station and has been detained under the Goondas Act at least five times, police said.Â
