3 imposters held at cargo hub
Three people, who posed as agents of a private clearing firm to try and steal goods worth Rs 4 lakh from the international cargo hub at Chennai airport, were arrested on Friday.

The arrested persons Sathish (35) of Red Hills, Sivakumar (32) of Washermanpet and Raj (40) of Tondiarpet were part of a private clearing agency at Chennai Harbour. However, they were sacked as there were several complaints against them.Â
On Friday evening, these three men came to the international cargo hub of the airport on the pretext of picking up a consignment containing electronic goods worth Rs four lakh that had arrived from Singapore.Â
However, the officials found that the document they provided were fake and altered the clearing firm immediately.Â
After the firm confirmed that they had not sent anyone to collect the consignment, the men were detained and handed over to the police officers immediately.Â
A probe is also on to identify the person who had leaked the consignment details to the trio.
