However, prison officials who are keeping a close watch on the arrested persons said that they were not showing any remorse.
Police said the arrested suspects have been detained in the same block, but in separate cells. A prison official said, “One of the suspects was suffering from wheezing and has been admitted at the hospital block inside the prison campus.”
Meanwhile, police held enquiries with pharmacies near Secretariat Colony and Ayanavaram on selling prescription drugs and sedative injections to the security guards, who administered them on the girl before sexually assaulting her.
It is said that the 60-year-old lift operator Ravikumar who started the assault and later brought in other acquaintances, previously worked at the maternity hospital and he knew about the use of medicines which are normally administered on the woman in labour.
Meanwhile, the victim’s family have temporarily shifted to their relative’s house in the city. The investigation officers have also taken the child for a medical examination at the government general hospital.
Meanwhile, the outrage about the incident has not died down among netizens who want the accused to be hanged without any trial.
The incident came to light on Sunday when the girl’s family approached police to report the abuse the minor went through in the hands of maintenance staff and security guards in the gated community.
