Madras HC seeks report on play facilities in Chennai schools
Admitting a petition alleging lack of playgrounds in most of the schools in Chennai, the Madras High Court has directed the State to provide a list of schools operating in the city along with particulars of the boards, to which they are affiliated.

The first bench comprising Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice PT Asha, said, “The report shall also indicate whether the schools are periodically inspected by the State authorities and if so, at what intervals, to ensure whether they comply with the requisite rules relating to infrastructure and facilities.”
Directing the State to furnish the report within three weeks, the bench also suo motu impleaded CBSE through its Regional Officer, ‘J’ Block and ordered notice to it. next hearing of the case is on July 30.
