56 flying instructors to graduate today
The valedictory ceremony of 144 Qualified Flying Instructors Course (QFIC) from Flying Instructors’ School (FIS) which includes training operational pilots for the three defence services and paramilitary forces as flying instructors, will take place on Friday and will be reviewed by Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria Param, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command, Indian Air Force.

The Qualified Flying Instructors course is a grueling 25-weeks package, comprising of academics and flying training with tests and exam at regular intervals. The focus during ground training is interfacing theoretical knowledge with practical aspects of aircraft systems and piloting. The use of Multimedia and IT resources as teaching aid is given high priority.
The training of 144 Qualified Flying Instructors Course (QFIC) commenced on 27 Nov 17 and 56 Officers are graduating on Friday. These include 46 officers of the Indian Air Force, two from Indian Army, six from Indian Navy, one from Indian Coast Guard and one foreign officer from Mynamar.
The graduates are awarded the coveted symbol of ‘Qualified Flying Instructor’, which they can wear on their uniform thereafter, signifying their elevated status and recognition as instructors.
